Puddingstone

343 is in for puddingstone. I'll be back from testing in Sochi prior to our race. There's a good possibility of further testing and consumption at the 5150 area test zone located at the Bandy test site up river from Blythe. All are welcome.

I'm pretty sure Emilio will be there

Propman's picture

Rod, will they get the Hydrostream "cooking" by then?

Capnzee88's picture

The Hydrostream is on schedule. Will it be at Puddingstone???

Baker343's picture

Rod, if you need any help getting the HST going give me a shout. I promise I wont share what I see.

Capnzee88's picture

Thanks for the offer, I am close to finish and only room for one under the deck. As far as sharing information, feel free to look at everything and anything I have. Sharing is what makes COR! Those who do are to be applauded, those who don't pit by themselves and don't understand the "spirit of COR"! Once again thanks for the Offer to help! In the mean time, stop by for a beer. Rod

flying finn's picture

Rod is right about the "spirit of COR". Just this week I stopped by his place to check out what was going on after I saw Mickey standing in the driveway. We all had a good chat. Then yesterday the Carranza boys stopped by my shop while I working on my boat and we had a beer or two and declared the Sleek's are the best.

WALTHOLLIS's picture

Carranza boys can be found pretty much at any place that has beer. Baker343 if thats you Bandy, let me know, Ill be camping as well. Even though Im not "familia" any more your all still welcome to drink my beer.

Don't leave your coolers out.

Walt, once you've been jumped in to the Clicka, there's no getting out.

We have a full field of 7 COR boats down at Puddingstone today Friday including the 343, 29, 30, 128, 45, 234... If you are able, get off your keyboards and come down... join us for two days of racing this weekend.

Who makes the 7th boat? By the boat numbers you have listed, I count 6. Not trying to be a wise guy, just would like to know who is the 7th boat. Thanks.

007's picture

I thought the 88 was going to show but maybe not. Being it is only Friday, will get an update on race day Saturday. Btw still waiting in your info to update your driver page? Just email it over.

Waiting for my 3rd grand child. I spent most of the day "dealing" with the Sportsman class instead of getting my boat ready. APBA has agreed that we can run the SPORTSMAN as it is presented in our 2014 rules which they wish to call a Gentleman's agreement. So, I will not make Saturday's event but plan to stop by just to "cool" the nay sayers. Is it safe to say that I can now place the Sportsman's Gentleman's agreement to race with the Claimers clause or will the sight go down for maintenance again? Just asking so I don't spend a lot of time on the computer to have it simply disappear in one way or the other. APBA has given us the "go ahead" as long as we run with in the COR rules which we are. Rod

007's picture

If Rod and other people want to "claim" each others motors... Meaning one can buy someone's power head for a set amount of money, that is a personal decision. It is up to you to decide who you want to sell your equipment at set amounts, if at all.

I do support finding alternatives to continue making COR one of the most attractive classes. I believe COR members do that by working together as a collective group. As the former COR Chairman, I am disappointed that Rod has never called me about his idea. Let's work together moving forward.

Note: After speaking the with Dutch, our APBA Special Events Chairman, he told me the ABPA attorneys and the APBA would NOT enforce this agreement and that it is a personal choice.

Capnzee88's picture

Once again, I will try to post the SPORTSMAN AGREEMENT for the COR members who would like to run in the SPORTSMAN class. I am heading for Texas today, I have a beautiful little 7 lb girl named LOLA! Any of you wishing to call with regards to the SPORTSMAN Class feel free to do so and I will do my best to get back to you ASAP. Though APBA is not willing to "enforce" our gentleman's agreement, they are not in any way negative to what we are trying to do. They understand the original objectives of the COR class but they also do not want changes to any APBA rules in the middle of the year. I have expressed this "no change in APBA rules" in every document I have sent out. The SPORTSMAN Agreement is open to whomever chooses to place the SPORTSMAN decal on the side of their boat signally their desire to run under the SPORTSMAN (rules) hereafter called AGREEMENT . I initiated the SPORTSMAN class because I saw a need for returning to the original objectives of COR. Remember, for the time being. the SPORTSMAN class is strictly a voluntary agreement. If it proves successful, it can be taken to the next level at an appropriate time. In the mean time, Lonnie Morris (region 11) is building 4 SPORTSMAN drop on power heads that will be dyno tested and for sale at a price of $1800.00 (the claimer cost). This is not to say that you can not build your own engine or have another build it for you. Rod

I would like to believe that Greg died doing something he really loved to do. Greg was an accomplished racer and was respected by all of the COR Family. He will be missed as a competitor and a friend by me and all the racers in the COR class. My deepest sympathy goes out to the Belda family.

so sad to read , never ever justified, RIP, Greg Belda. Condolences to the Belda Family, may God Bless, Comfort, and Heal you during these difficult times.

I can't get my head around this yet. Greg was a great guy and my friend. I was just joking with him on the ramp about his shiny new racing suit. Then he was gone. A hugh loss to his immediate family and our racing family.

flying finn's picture

I talked with Uncle Dave from the family today. Dora is staying with her daughter in Costa Mesa for the time being. All the immediate family is in Southern California. I have been asked to coordinate getting Greg B's boat from Puddingstone when available.
The family will advise me of any funeral/memorials that will occur that we may attend. I indicated our desire as a COR group to hold a memorial for Greg at my yacht club in Redondo Beach with a memorial at sea on my Luhrs vessel if they would like. Greg also has a boat in San Diego, a 45'? Viking Sport Fisher. I also indicated our desire to help out if they wished to use his boat instead or also.
I will keep everyone posted as I receive any information. I also talked to Mike Q. today and he is doing OK considering the circumstances.

WALTHOLLIS's picture

I have some memorial stickers for Greg being made up that we can run on our boats. I will have them at Parker for anyone who wants one.

Greg was a heck of nice guy. He has a second home in Lake Havasu near ours and stopped by for a cold one more than once to just bs. Always smiling and full of energy.

Since your making the stickers I won't cause I was making

I have a bunch coming, Region 11 emailed me, they want some to. Happy to help in any way I can.

This Saturday at 2 pm, the family will have a memerial and celebration of life for Greg at their home. The address is 3557 Ocean Ave., Los Angeles. It is off Venice boulvard and is close to the ocean. Causual attire and no need to bring anything. I sent an e-mail out, but if you didn't get it, now you got it.

WALTHOLLIS's picture

Greg, Laurie and I will be there. Thank you for coordinating this.

flying finn's picture

The correct address is 3557 Ocean View Ave. The celebration will be in their backyard and to dress casual. Nothing to bring or do as it is being handled by the caterer. Just come.
