The Flying Wedge returns
Forums:
My friend Emilio and I have been working really hard to bring another COR boat to the races. We started the new motor tonight and worked on some wiring and guages. Emilio hopes to put it on the water Thursday. For those of you who don't know about this boat it is a Glastron Starcraft Tri hull. We modified the boat to fit the COR/ Mod VP rules. There have been some nay-sayers but this could be the greatest flop in the history of race boats or the greatest thing since sliced bread. I'll keep you informed as the saga continues. Emilio hopes to race in the Enduro, so look for a strange looking red boat that looks like an Allison from the rear and Miss Circus Circus from the front. By the way, it will be driven by a crazy Mexican who doesn't understand the meaning of the word "lift"

The "Wedge" update
Emilio didn't make the enduro, we didn't have enough time or testing in to be comfortable to run the 300. In the last few weeks since the enduro we got it to run a respectable 74.9 mph. I think it will be competitive as it turns well and accelerates really good. I think Emilio went to the Johnny Sories Driving school though as he seems to want to trim it to the moon. He has had it completely clear of the water every time its been out, but hasn't been wet yet, so,.... so far so good. We had a real break-through two weeks ago when I convinced Emilio to fabricate some "tunnel extensions" out of 1/8th aluminum, they made the boat fly really well by giving it overall lift. It worked so well I was thinking of making some for the Stoker.

LA Boat Show
I have made arrangements for our APBA Region 12 to have the entrance spot at the 56th Annual LA Boat Show in Feb. to display a few boat and drivers to help us promote the sport. It would be great to have guys there. You can learn more about it at new gather place for APBA Region 12 here: http://www.boatracingfacts.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=175

The wedge
Just wondering how the "Flying Wedge" has been performing or if it has reached the testing stage yet.

Performance
It is working better, of course if you talk to Emilio, he will tell you it's not going fast enough, we had it out Saturday in really rough water, not so good, it's more of a flat water boat.

Word on the street
The word on the street is that the "Flying Wedge" did well on it's first real test, an actual circle race. Congratlulations Emilio! You are now fully enrolled as a COR member with class voting rights. See you at the Hi-Points & rules Christmas party on the 16th of December. Rod Zapf COR Chmn.

More from the "street people"
Kevin couldn't be beat. Johnny Soares got his Scream'n Sleek around the course in near record time but couldn't reel boat #234 in. The Hill/Apple valley boat came in second for the week-end (who to give the points to or who really owns the #28 boat).Emilio did a great job of driv'n "the wedge" and it proved to be fast! More to come when Mike Q summarizes the week-end. Don't forget to rsvp and send money for the COR Hi-points/rules Christmas party, Dec 16th. Rod Zapf, COR chairman

I got my slings out at Parker
We weighed the Starcraft last week and it weighed in at 1360 lbs, this should give him enough weight to be legal. Given all the bad things I had heard about this hull it turned out to be pretty fast with a 2 liter. I think a larger motor and this would be off the hook. I still have some other ideas, which will require Emilio and me to mix up some resin and get itchy, but I think we can make it work even better. Besides, we have so much time between now and January.......not
