any one interested in jumping on the sanction of a few Region 11 races prior to our next race at Long Beach? Chowchilla is relatively close....

I thought Ross was doing something in Laughlin in June. He said something about he's working on some local lake as well.

Laughlin is not on the SCSC schedule at this time. Chowchilla is a haul (290 miles) but would be the closest of all the No.Cal races. Otherwise, if people are interested we coud organize our own COR race here in So. Cal and invite a few other classes to differ the cost.

June 9 & 10 - Lazy Harry's Saloon presents The 1st Annual Bullhead Invitational Sprint Boat Races (RPM) www.rpmracingent.com (tentative)

I'd like to hear more about organizing our own race, sounds cool.

Any interest?

Region 11 has contacted me about placing the COR boats on 3 of their events. It seems they liked the "show" we put on at Isleton, even though we only had 3 boats! The three races offered to us would be Reno, Nevada, Chowchila California, and Isleton California. I told them I thought this would interfere with our Region 12 races but I would throw the ball in the air and see where it lands. Comments from the COR members would be appreciated. On the good side, they love us in region 11 and we have a chance to expand the COR association. On the bad side, it is a lot of driving and we have our own region 12 races to support.

If the idea of a chowhilla trip is still being kicked around I would be interested. It's about the same drive as a trip to HAVASU and I do that almost every weekend.

Walt Hollis has thrown his hat in the ring, any challengers? You only need one boat to cross the start line to win points in COR boat racing. No 3 or 4 boat requirements as in other classes. Walt, if you want to go, I would suggest making a few contacts with the other members. I will not be going--still recuping. Rod

Thanks for throwing it out there Rod, if anyone is interested on going, email me walthollis@yahoo.com or call 6613730791

The 30 boat would consider going to chowchila.

Walt, Mike, I believe you could get a couple more with just a little conversation. Maybe a phone call or two. I know I could get you some test time plus at least 3 heats a day if you could get 3 or 4 boats together. You can't beat competition for test time. A big plus for you Walt would be that a race or two under your belt prior to Long Beach would suffice for that "first" race when you are under the watchful eye of the referee and have to run last and to the outside until he/she (referee) decides you are ready to "mix it up". Since I am a virgin to the schedules, is it an issue if I came to Chowchilla and ran Sunday only? Might be able to meet the needs of the family with 4th of July in Havasu and then head up to Chowchilla for Sunday.

Walt, there would be no problem running one day at Chowchilla. The previous owner of your boat often ran just one day of the 2 day races. In honesty, unless you had several boats going with you, I just don't think it would be worth your while. The points system is such that if just one boat crosses the start finish line, he/she will receive a point total of 100 points. The problem is the race committee; they may not allow just one boat to "eat" up the water or on the other hand, they may allow you to run with another class (as in the SS120's). Unless there are commitments from at least another 2 boats or so, I just think you are spinning your wheels. I wish I were able to race at this time, I would certainly be a "player"! Hope this explains and sorry I can't be more optimistic. Rod
