You guys will be in some great company!! If anyone needs someone to buy them a drink, let me know. If you need a place to work on your boat let me know. Bring your camera, the shot of your boat at the Nautical ramp while they are craning in GP Hydro's will be priceless!! So your running the same 1 mile coarse through Thompson Bay?

COR's will be running the
COR's will be running the same 1 mile course as the Hydros's so I would expect a BIGGG oval course--just a guess. This is SHOW TIME for the COR boats, You wanna make the "big" screen, put on a race. Parade time is on the trailer, Show time is on the water. The East Coast Clubs, the Mid West Clubs, North West and Canada are tuned into our You-tube videos, once again thanks to Keith and the great job he does with his camera and comments. Rod

Just bought a new (old) house that needs everything and still have my boat in peices. Wish I could be there as Havasu still owes me a last lap. Too bad I'm not ready.

HAVASU A SUCCESS FOR THE COR
HAVASU A SUCCESS FOR THE COR BOATS. Although only 4 COR's showed up, it is my understanding that they did a great job of racing. Of the four boats , Emilio, Kevin and Dave all made it to the podium. These boats are so evenly matched. Emilio's 05 boat drew a lot of attention and quite a following as he held unto his lead to the very end of the 3rd heat. Once again, Kevin "picked 'm off" in the first heat. Tim Carranza's #45 boat showed new life in the 2nd and 3rd heats for their first wins after a a year of struggling. Greg Ronkainen has put his #128 in contention but had mechanical problems. Today, they go at it again--Good luck guys and safe racing. Rod

Enjoyed the show from our pontoon on Saturday. What type of hull is the all red boat? When it was heading towards us it resembles something out of a batman movie, very cool looking.

A great weekend of racing!
A great weekend of racing! Great to know Dave C. is ok after his swim on Sunday in Heat #5. We were really treated great by the organizer as well...they loved us! Some great racing and those GP's were awesome. If those thing run and don't kill each other, they are sick!

Some of the best and worst racing
This was some of the best racing I have seen in the COR class, we had a start with no more than a second or two between first and last place with four boats. Emilio blasted past Tim and me at the start of the third heat and held Tim and me at bay till the end, one of the very best races we've had. Tim and Dave found the right engine for that boat and they both "drove the wheels off it." Probably the best moment was Saturday night, Tim managed to lead the race and the Family was lined up around the boat for a picture session with Dave and Tim at the center grinning from ear to ear, it was priceless, knowing how hard it was to get to that point.
The course was deceiving from the shore, boat wakes left the exit of turn one rougher than I have ever seen in a boat race, much of the back straight was really unpredictable and I cannot recall a single heat without some kind of "flying maneuver" on the back. I remember having this thought "it might be better to finish in second then to flip in first." It was mostly a fleeting thought though until Sunday. Seeing Dave in the water was something I couldn't beleive at first, then I thought well It could have been any one of us. Thank God Dave emerged with minor injuries. Perhaps Tim set the bar pretty high on Saturday, but I was thinking that both Tim and Dave were feeling "bulletproof" on Saturday night. I'm taking this as "little wake up call" and I promised myself to listen to that little voice to finish, even if it's in last place. To do whatever is necessary to finish safely and not hurt myself or anyone else on the race course. Perhaps a good promise for every racer to make to himself.

COR at Havasu
The weekend was awesome. As usually, I had my Rookie problems Saturday but got to run two races and check out props. Sunday I started to get the hang of it race #4. Race # 5 had Dave going for a swim on a nice hot day. But I agree with Kevin, it was a wake up call. Shit can happen. A blow over is not the only thing that can happen. Glad you are OK Dave. Finally, Race #6 I changed props, fixed my steering wheel with 10 minutes to spare and went out on the coarse. Got a good start and started chasing the leaders. After 1st place boat missing a turn bouy and working hard to hold the inside position and holding off Emilio, I ended up 2nd!!!! I made it out of the cellar finally. Hats off to you Tim & Dave for your first place and know how much it took for you to get there. I think we all impressed alot of people with our COR group and our tight racing. I agree that Dutch really cared about our group and we all felt very welcome. Red flags, black flags, flares, disqualifications, penalities, accident, too many laps: you name it, we had it. That's what racing is all about boys.
Thanks, Greg The Flying Finn
